Lulu had been experiencing several “accidents” by urinating outside of her litter box. Instead of attempting to understand the underlying cause of this behavioral change, the weary owners opted for euthanasia as a solution
A New York veterinarian was very surprised when a couple came to him with Lulu , an elderly but obviously healthy female cat, asking to have her euthanized. They explained that she relieved herself outside of her litter box, and that was the reason for their presence.
The vet refused to perform the deed, and managed to convince the owners to hand over ownership of Lulu to him . Then, he entrusted her to the Dutchess County SPCA shelter , in the hope of finding her a new family.
Now neat and healthy, Lulu is looking for a new home. She deserves a home where we will love her and be patient with her, even if she has urinary problems again or whatever.
