Found concealed under a heap of fallen leaves, this kitten underwent a remarkable transformation.

The fortunate discovery of a black kitten hidden under a pile of dead leaves in Montreal, Canada, saved him from the harsh winter conditions.

A couple traveling by car noticed movement under the leaves and stopped to investigate. They found a scared and thin black kitten, estimated to be around 7 months old. Worried for the kitten’s well-being, they contacted the Chatons Orphelins Montreal shelter for help.

Céline Crom from the shelter rushed to the scene and gently approached the petrified kitten. The kitten was so frightened that he buried his head under the leaves, trying to remain unnoticed. Céline carefully picked him up, and he trembled with fear. He was much smaller than he should have been for his age, indicating he had likely suffered from lack of food since birth.

After receiving basic care at the vet, the kitten was placed with a foster family named Laeticia. They named him Mika, in honor of the man who found him. Gradually, with patience, love, and time, Mika started to trust humans and feel safe in his new environment. He sought comfort in hiding behind a soft toy and eventually began to enjoy cuddles and interactions with the other cats in the house.

Observing the older felines, Mika learned and imitated their behaviors, revealing his playful and adventurous side. He loved climbing and exploring his surroundings.

Today, Mika is a beautiful and healthy indoor cat who adores human companionship. He was happily adopted by a family in Montreal, where he now lives like a cherished king.
