Following the rescue of a family of cats, the shelter staff was astonished to uncover unexpected information about the mother cat.

A property manager discovered a litter of five kittens in a building and thought they were accompanied by their mother. The Community Cat Club, led by Sara Sharp in South Jersey, agreed to take them in and provide them with the care they needed.

Upon closer evaluation, they realized that the cat accompanying the kittens was actually an unaltered male cat. They named him Mr. Mom and found him to be nervous initially but relieved to be rescued. After getting some food and attention, Mr. Mom quickly showed his friendly and kind nature towards the kittens.

Despite their efforts to locate the actual mother cat, they couldn’t find her, and she never returned to the building. It remains a mystery how the kittens ended up with Mr. Mom.

The kittens were taken into foster care for further growth and socialization, while Mr. Mom enjoyed being relieved of his babysitting duties. He has since warmed up to people, enjoying face and back rubs, and is now ready for adoption to find his own forever home.

Mr. Mom’s story may forever remain a mystery, but one thing is certain – he will never have to wander the streets again and will be loved and cared for in his new forever home with endless affection.
