Observing the cat’s overnight transformation from plump to skinny, a resident deduces the presence of kittens near their home.

A friendly stray tabby cat showed up in a neighborhood and was seen wandering the streets, looking for food. A resident who had gotten to know the cat noticed a drastic change in her appearance overnight, realizing that she must have been pregnant and given birth to kittens. They began searching for the kittens and eventually found them under their front porch in a cuddle puddle.

Realizing that the location under the porch was not suitable for raising kittens, especially in the summer heat, the finder reached out to Coastal Bend Cat Rescue (CBCR) for help. While waiting for a foster home, they kept the cat mama well fed and cared for her babies.

As soon as a foster family became available, the kittens were rescued from under the porch and brought into a safe and loving environment. The stray mama, named Tuba, was delighted to be taken inside and settled into her new foster home, enjoying all the food she could devour.

Tuba has four kittens, named Trombone, Trumpet, French Horn, and Bugle, after musical instruments in the brass family. At three weeks old, the kittens are starting to explore and are becoming more active and curious. Tuba showers her kittens with unconditional love and also enjoys attention and head scratches from humans.

With the help of a kind neighbor and CBCR, Tuba and her kittens were rescued just in time. They are now thriving in the comfort of their foster home and enjoying the luxuries of indoor life.
