Transforming from a street cat to a loving guardian, he cherishes the companionship of kittens, finding the place he’d always yearned for.

An orange and white cat named Mickey was rescued from the streets and taken into a foster home by Kristen Sterner, a foster mom with St. Francis Society Animal Rescue. Mickey had a tough time surviving on the streets for nearly two years, making him very timid when he arrived at the foster home. He initially hid, but with Kristen’s patience and love, he began to relax and come out of his shell.

When Mickey was ready to socialize, Kristen introduced him to a pair of foster kittens. To her surprise, Mickey took them under his wing and became a loving and nurturing mentor to the kittens. He let them crawl all over him, play with his tail, and wrestle with his paws. The kittens adored Mickey and saw him as their “mom.”

After Mickey was adopted by a family, he initially struggled to adjust and returned to the foster home. Kristen realized that Mickey found his true calling in caring for foster kittens and decided to adopt him herself. Mickey continued to care for every single kitten that came through the door, showering them with love and snuggles. He became their guardian, watching over them and comforting them when needed.

Mickey’s gentle and caring nature made him the best foster kitten nanny, and he found his forever home with Kristen and her family. He enjoys being surrounded by kittens, and they love to cuddle up with him in a “cuddle puddle.” Mickey went from being a street kitty to living the best life with the family of his dreams, where he can continue to care for and love foster kittens.
