Matea was riding her bicycle home after work when she noticed a lone cat wandering along a busy main street, looking visibly weak and tiny.

“As I reached the crossing, I spotted a little ball of fluff, a tiny, visibly emaciated kitten,” Matea recalled.

Concerned for the kitten’s well-being, she got off her bike and approached the little one to offer her assistance. The kitten seemed receptive to being picked up and cared for. Matea gently placed the kitten in her backpack to ensure its safety; the cat was skin and bones at that time.

Despite its condition, the kitten appeared grateful and content, choosing to unwind and take a long nap during the journey.

“I tucked my dress into the back of my bag, and at first, she was a bit grumpy, but I think she eventually realized she could relax and sleep,” Matea said with a smile.
