In a delightful surprise, a couple discovers a kitten in their yard, and to their amazement, their tortoise emerges from his burrow with a second one, creating an unexpected and heartwarming family reunion.

A couple from Las Vegas found a kitten in their backyard and reached out to local animal rescuer Patricia Lika for help. To their surprise, when Patricia arrived, they discovered not one but three kittens. The couple had a rescue tortoise in their backyard who had come out of hibernation and brought out two of the kittens from his burrow.

The cat mother had given birth to the kittens inside the burrow and kept them safe until she didn’t return. One kitten made it out, and the tortoise pushed out the second one. There was a third kitten deep inside the burrow, which they couldn’t reach at first. They used a baby monitor to keep an eye on the kitten’s movements and were eventually able to rescue him.

All three kittens, named Marshmallow, Bisquick, and Stormtrooper, arrived in Patricia’s foster care. They were hungry and weak but quickly perked up after getting some nourishment. The kittens became more active, kneading on their soft blankets, and wrestling with each other.

Over time, the trio adjusted to their new routine and loved their bottle feedings. They enjoyed belly rubs, cuddles, and being held. As they grew, they moved into a spacious playpen where they honed their playful and explorative skills.

Now about 8-9 weeks old, the kittens are a boisterous and inquisitive bunch. They love people and attention and are eagerly waiting to find their forever loving homes. Patricia’s foster care has given them a second chance at life, and they will never have to spend another day outside or without a warm lap to sit on.
