Macaroni, the kitten with many toes, discovers a kind person who helps him, enabling him to run around just like other kittens, embracing a new life full of freedom and happiness.

Babar, a long-haired cream kitten, was brought to Chatons Orphelins Montreal along with two other kittens for a chance at a better life. He was the smallest and sickest of the three, with mobility issues and a severe respiratory infection. Despite his frailty, Babar sought affection from people and just wanted to be loved.

Through treatment with antibiotics and dedicated care, Babar recovered from the respiratory infection. However, they noticed that he had trouble running and jumping. After further examination, it was determined that Babar had feline myotonia, a congenital neuromuscular disease that affects the muscles. As a result, he couldn’t jump or kick with his hind legs, but he could walk slowly and steadily on the floor.

Despite his condition, Babar became more active and playful. He would saunter around, honing his gait, and followed other cats around the house. He had a unique and endearing way of walking, earning him the nickname “penguin.” Babar enjoyed napping, being brushed, and playing with feather toys. He was resourceful and found ways to move around despite his limitations.

After nearly four months in foster care, Babar found his forever home with a family that was committed to giving him the best life. He now enjoys a life full of love, safety, and the company of other cats and loving humans. Despite his challenges, Babar continues to love life and brings joy to those around him with his sweet and determined spirit.
