The kitten’s growth flourishes when a kind person takes her in, finding the perfect fit in their home, a heartwarming journey of love and belonging.

A litter of kittens arrived at Best Friends Felines, a cat rescue in Brisbane, when they were about seven weeks old. Among the kittens was a calico who was much smaller than her siblings and wasn’t thriving like the others. Nikki, the president of Best Friends Felines, took the little calico named Adele under her care.

Adele was nearly half the size she was supposed to be and showed signs of not growing properly. Nikki provided Adele with around-the-clock care, feeding her and giving her supportive care. Adele had a powerful voice and would scream out when she couldn’t see someone.

During this time, Nikki was grieving the loss of her beloved calico cat of 21.5 years, Chyna. Adele brought comfort to Nikki’s life with her tiny presence and determination to get better.

Adele’s first vet visit revealed she was unwell with a suspected Liver Shunt, and her future was uncertain. However, with Nikki’s diligent care and love, Adele started to make good gains, nearly doubling her weight and gaining a little rotund belly.

As the weeks passed, Adele became stronger and healthier, and she began to fit right into Nikki’s home. She followed Nikki around like her little shadow, insisting on napping with her favorite person.
Adele’s improvements surprised the veterinary staff, and she became a cherished member of Nikki’s family. She grew into a beautiful and sweet-natured cat, loved by Nikki’s other cats and helping with the foster kitties.
Adele, once a pint-sized wonder, has defied the odds and blossomed into a stunning cat with a wonderfully fluffy tail and a playful, loving personality. She has found her forever home with Nikki, and they share a deep bond of love and companionship.
