From the darkness, a pair of small eyes stared at me intently as I walked down the street. It was a pitiful little cat, so small and vulnerable. And I discovered that it was hiding under a wooden pallet, secretly observing everyone.
I approached and lifted the pallet, and there she was, our little girl. She was probably only a few days old, and I wondered how she had ended up lost in this place. Holding the cat in my arms, I made my way back to the rescue team, determined to help this unfortunate cat.
Hunger and exhaustion had made the cat tremble and grow weak. She was covered in dirt and fleas. I noticed that one of her eyes couldn’t open, perhaps from crying too much. First, we made a warm bed for her out of a cardboard box. She seemed to really like it and curled up obediently.
Next, the cat was taken for a hygiene bath, especially around the eyes. We carefully used gauze and antiseptic alcohol to examine her eyes. Fortunately, both eyes were fine; they were just crusted and glued shut. This is how she looked after the bath, a beautiful cat with big, sparkling eyes.
I named her Ruby. And soon after, Ruby easily acquainted herself with every nook and cranny of the house. She was joyful and mischievous, turning anything into an exciting toy in her eyes. Look at this, the cat is even smaller than my foot.
We were just enjoying ourselves when something happened that worried everyone. Suddenly, Ruby started walking unsteadily. I guessed that she had accidentally injured herself while jumping around in excitement. The rare accident made us both worried and unable to hold back our laughter at the small but incredibly lively cat.
So, we immediately took her to the veterinary hospital for examination. Fortunately, the doctor said Ruby was perfectly fine, and the leg injury was just a minor wound that would heal on its own in a few days. We returned home together, and the mischievous cat Ruby showed no signs of remorse whatsoever. She truly was an adorable little troublemaker.
I silently thanked God for bringing her into our lives, making my day so happy. Ruby had found a loving home, and together we created unforgettable memories.
